Emergency First Aid at Work Course - 3 days

Introduction

This comprehensive three-day course covers a wide range of First Aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with emergency situations with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way

Who should attend?

Nominated workplace first aiders, or anyone wanting a comprehensive introduction to first aid.

Course syllabus

  • Hygiene
  • Bandaging and first aid kits
  • Shock / anaphylaxis
  • Angina, heart attack and strokes
  • Burns, scolds, poisoning
  • Skeletal system, fractures, sprains and strains
  • Head and spinal injury
  • Epilepsy, seizures and diabetes
  • Incident recording
  • Practical exercises and written test
  • Course introduction
  • Aim of first aid, communication and priority of treatment
  • CPR and recovery practice
  • Use of face shields / treatment of regurgitation
  • Unconscious patients
  • Hypoxia causes, symptoms and signs
  • Choking
  • Asthma and hyperventilation
  • The circulatory system, bleeding and types of wounds

Certificate of attendance will be issued to delegates on successful completion of the course.
