SMAS Accreditation
SMAS is a member of Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) and is a way of demonstrating your Health & Safety competence. Businesses from all backgrounds are open to applying and, assuming your application is successful, your certificate will be valid for 12 months.
Although more common for businesses in the construction sector, SMAS Worksafe accreditation is applicable across the board. If you’re a business that’s required to tender and/or complete pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs), SMAS Worksafe accreditation can give you a real boost. It improves your professional image and allows you to win work that you otherwise wouldn’t be able to.
SMAS certification has streamlined the process for buyers, suppliers, and companies by providing automatic prequalification for contracts within each sector. Gaining an SSIP certificate through SMAS will enable you to show high levels of health and safety management and is a simple way to prove that your company takes health and safety very seriously.
Obtaining an SSIP certificate is a great and simple way to show potential employees that you have a commitment to assuring their safety, making you a much more attractive proposition. Helps companies to avoid undertaking health and safety assessments on every building site.
